Interesting image, Marc. The strong HDR effect gives a dreamlike quality. A lot of the HDR imagery on the web has this kind of look; I'm still not sure if I like it or not. In this image, I like the fuzzy-but-detailed look of the building (around the door, for example). On the other hand, some of the local contrast artifacts are distracting (for example, the sky behind the tree appears brighter than the sky above, and the halo around the building is strong). It definitely gives the tower an eerie quality.
ReplyDeleteThis image makes an interesting contrast with one of your previous posts: view from the national portrait gallery, which has a more natural look.
Hi Brian, I am also not sure if I like it or not. In a few days I will publish a more natural looking version. You can compare the two. The halo arond the building is my fault. Not sure how to get rid of it.
